Loading and unloading of liquefied hydrocarbon gases is carried out through two liquid phase loading and unloading valves and one vapor phase drain valve, all located on the top hatch of the tank car. During loading, the product is fed into the tank under pressure through the liquid phase loading and unloading standpipe, while the vapor phase is vented from the tank through the drainage standpipe. During unloading, the vapor phase is supplied to the tank through the drainage standpipe, while the product is discharged through the liquid phase loading and unloading standpipe.
The liquefied hydrocarbon gas loading and unloading unit includes two separate standpipes:
