Telephone cables with insulation and a sheath made of polymer materials, designed for operation in networks with a nominal remote power supply voltage of up to 225 and 145V AC at 50 Hz or a voltage of up to 315 and 200V DC, respectively.
The cables are classified into telephone cables GERDA-TP, special telephone cables GERDA-ST, and telephone exchange cables GERDA-TS.
GERDA-TP telephone cables and GERDA-ST special telephone cables are designed for use in local primary communication networks. GERDA-ST cables have enhanced protection against external electromagnetic interference. GERDA-TP and GERDA-ST comply with GOST 31943-2012.
GERDA-TS telephone exchange cables are designed for the installation of low-frequency exchange equipment in telephone stations.
The primary application area is shown in Table 7.
The nominal diameter of copper conductors (see Table 2): 0.32 mm; 0.4 mm; 0.5 mm; 0.64 mm; 0.7 mm.
In GERDA-TP telephone cables, the conductor insulation can be (optional, see Table 3):
The conductor insulation of GERDA-ST cables is made of polyethylene “P”.
The conductor insulation of GERDA-TS exchange cables is made of the following materials:
Insulated conductors, distinctly different in insulation color, are twisted into pairs (triples).
Cables with up to 100 pairs (triples) can be twisted using either a layer twist method or a bundle twist method.
In the layer twist method, all pairs (triples) may have:
In the bundle twist method, the cable core with up to 100 pairs (triples) consists of groups (elementary bundles of 5 or 10 pairs) with distinguishing colored binding threads (see Table 6). In cables with more than 100 pairs, the core is twisted from main bundles consisting of 50 or 100 pair bundles.
By agreement with the customer, the core center may contain 2 signal conductors (for cables with 10 to 100 pairs) or 4 signal conductors (for cables with 100 or more pairs). Cables designed for installation in high-humidity conditions are manufactured with water-blocking tapes “v” or a hydrophobic filler “Z”.
Cables with the “FR” index are fire-resistant, with conductor insulation made of silicone rubber. These cables maintain functionality for at least 180 minutes under open flame exposure and temperatures of +750°C (PO1 according to GOST 31565-2012). GERDA-TP and GERDA-TS cables have a common shield made of aluminum-polymer tape with a tinned drain wire. The sheath of cables labeled with the material “P” is made of polyethylene, while cables with the index “ng(A)-HF” are made of halogen-free polymer compositions.
Cables labeled with the material “V” have a sheath made of PVC compounds, with the index “ng(A)” indicating low flammability PVC, and “ng(A)-LS” indicating low fire hazard with reduced smoke and gas emission. Cables labeled with the material “T” have a sheath made of thermoplastic elastomers, offering an extended operating temperature range from -50°C to +125°C. Special GERDA-ST cables have an aluminum sheath “A” providing protection against increased electromagnetic interference. The sheath of cables designed for suspension on communication line supports is applied simultaneously to the cable core and the steel strand, which acts as a supporting element.
Cables may have armor made of galvanized steel wires or galvanized steel tapes, with external protective coverings compliant with GOST 7006.
Cables that are subject to increased requirements for external influencing factors can be manufactured in the following versions:
“T” — heat-resistant (up to +200°C, for material “T”);
“HL” — frost-resistant;
“EHL” — resistant to extremely cold conditions, cable installation down to -40°C;
“UV” — UV-resistant;
“H” — resistant to acids, alkalis, and environments with high hydrogen sulfide content;
“M” — oil and fuel-resistant;
“ZG” — sheath resistant to rodents, ants, and termites;
“DV60” — service life of at least 60 years.
