Flexible power cable GERDA-TFL for telecommunication equipment (TU 27.32.13-044-76960731-2020)

  • The flexible power cable GERDA-TFL is designed for use in telephone exchanges, mobile base stations, data centers, uninterruptible power supplies, and similar equipment where a cable with low inductance and high electromagnetic compatibility is required. The GERDA-TFL cable can serve as a replacement for the TFL 492 32 (Ericsson) cable.

The cable is intended for the transmission and distribution of electrical power in stationary DC installations with a nominal voltage of 600V, a nominal AC voltage of U = 380V at a frequency of 50Hz, and a maximum AC voltage of Um = 600V.

Fire-resistant “FR” cables are used for connecting devices that must remain operational in fire conditions.

Cable construction

  • Conductors

GERDA-TFL is produced with multi-stranded tinned or copper “m” conductors of Class 5 according to GOST 22483-2012 (high flexibility). The conductors are flat-shaped, consisting of three parallel-laid strands of soft copper wires.

The nominal cross-section of the copper conductors: 2.5; 4; 6; 10; 16; 25 mm². By agreement with the customer, cables with a different number of conductors and nominal cross-section can be manufactured.

In fire-resistant “FR” cables, a wrapping of two mica-containing tapes is applied over the conductors, preventing them from short-circuiting in case of fire.

The conductor insulation can be made of:

    • PVC compound “B” (maximum cable flexibility),
    • Halogen-free polymer composition “P” (maximum cable flexibility),
    • Cross-linked polyolefin “Ps”,
    • Thermoplastic elastomer “T” (less flexible cable).

One conductor is insulated in gray, the other in black.

    Overall Shield

An overall shield may be applied over the core of two flat conductors, available in the following types:

    • “E” — Wrapping with aluminum foil tape (Alumoflex) with a multi-stranded tinned copper drain wire,
    • “Em” — Copper wire braid,
    • “El” — Tinned copper wire braid,
    • “Emf” — Wrapping with copper foil tape with a multi-stranded tinned copper drain wire,
    • “EEl” — Copper wire braid over Alumoflex wrapping.
  • Armor

Cables may have armor under the outer sheath:

    • “K” — Solid steel galvanized wire armor,
    • “Ko” — Braided galvanized wire armor.

    Outer Sheath

The outer sheath can be made of (see Table 3):

    • Low fire hazard PVC compound,
    • Halogen-free polymer composition,
    • Thermoplastic elastomer.

The color of the outer sheath is specified when ordering. If not specified, the sheath is produced in gray; for the “UF” version, the sheath is black.

    Special Cable Versions:

    • “EHL” — Resistant to extremely cold conditions, installation possible at temperatures as low as -40°C,
    • “UF” — Sheath resistant to solar radiation, rain exposure, dynamic abrasive dust impact, and frost formation,
    • “H” — Sheath resistant to acids, alkalis, and environments with high hydrogen sulfide content,
    • “M” — Sheath resistant to gasoline and industrial oil,
    • “ZG” — Sheath resistant to rodents, ants, and termites.

Such cables have a fire hazard rating of “ng(C)-HF” or “ng(C)-FRHF” and are less flexible due to the rigid sheath.
