The spring balancer is installed on pipe No. 2 and performs the same functions as the counterweight but is more compact, lightweight, and safer for the operator to use.
When using the spring balancer, the load on hinges PST No. 1 and PST No. 3 is reduced. The spring balancer is designed for a specific tilt angle range of pipe No. 2 (±35º). When the support rests on the tank manhole, the balancer’s kinematics provide an additional force of approximately 4 kg, pressing the support against the tank manhole.
The mass of a riser equipped with a spring balancer is approximately 40% less than that of a similar riser with a counterweight.
