The OSN-URM unit is designed for the preparation of high-viscosity petroleum products (fuel oil, gas oil, bitumen, etc.) for unloading from railway tank cars or other containers. It is installed on stationary racks for receiving petroleum products, at dedicated receiving points, or at special sites for unloading products from damaged tank cars.
The OSN-URM unit is a cylindrical heat exchanger made of aluminum profile. Steam at temperatures up to 200ºC is used as the heat transfer medium.
The OSN-URM unit is inserted into the tank car opening from above, and after preliminary heating of the product around and inside the heat exchanger, intensive mixing of the cold product with the heated one is performed using an electric drive until the entire volume reaches the required temperature. For example, heating a 40 m³ tank of fuel oil by 25ºC takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
The condensate formed during OSN-URM operation is discharged through a drainage tube, preventing the heat exchanger from freezing and the product from becoming water-contaminated. A lightweight, adjustable, and lockable support allows regulation of the immersion depth of the OSN-URM unit to accommodate various types of tank cars.
