Electric vehicle charging now reaches any point in Russia: Moscow engineers devised a containerized solution

Imagine: you are driving an electric vehicle along a highway somewhere between Tomsk and Novosibirsk, the charge is running out, and around you — there is not a hint of civilization. Previously, this would have been a problem. Now — it is not. The Moscow-based company “Revatt Rus” has figured out how to deploy charging infrastructure even in an open field, and for this, there is no need to build a permanent structure.

The secret is simple: a modular charging hub inside a standard container. It doesn’t require years of design or construction from scratch — it arrives ready-made, with equipment already installed and configured. Place it, connect it — and it’s ready to charge. And it is many times cheaper than traditional solutions.

As explained by the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, the capital is currently actively developing an electric vehicle manufacturing cluster based on “Technopolis”, and such developments are a priority area. “Revatt Rus” is one of the key players in this cluster. By the way, the company has already installed more than two thousand of its charging stations across Russia, and they are compatible with over 150 electric vehicle models.

What can the new container do? Inside, it holds up to 12 direct current charging posts with a power output of up to 600 amperes. This is enough to quickly charge both a passenger car and a truck. But the main feature is modularity. An energy storage unit, solar panels, or even a transformer substation for connection to a regular power line can be built into the container. This means the hub operates autonomously in places where the grid is weak or non-existent.

The company shared another interesting detail: they are currently working with partners on the idea of expanding the functionality. Why not place cafes or capsule hotels for travelers in similar containers? Then these would no longer be just charging stations, but real oases of comfort on long-distance highways.

Last year, “Revatt Rus” also introduced a distributed charging hub system — a stationary solution for mass charging, including for municipal and freight vehicles. It allows saving up to half of operating costs and safely distributing the load. So the process is underway: the electric vehicle network in Russia is no longer just a story about large cities and is gradually becoming accessible to any corner of the country.
