Moscow developers create new generation of pipes for cable line protection

The Moscow-based company “Polyplastic Group” has unveiled an innovative line of polymer pipes designed for reliable protection of electrical cables. Serial production of the new product will begin by summer 2026. This was announced by Anatoly Garbuzov, head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.

“Thanks to city support, our enterprises are not only increasing production volumes but also constantly updating their product range. The new development by the Moscow company consists of pipes that reliably protect electrical networks and communication lines from vibration, aggressive environments, fire and any external damage. Such products will provide high‑quality domestic materials for the construction of roads, bridges and telecommunications infrastructure,” the minister noted.

What are the features of the new product? The pipes are made from a special non‑combustible polymer composite. The inner layer has a sliding coating — this significantly simplifies the cable blowing‑in process. The outer layer, in turn, is resistant to fire and UV radiation, which is particularly important for outdoor operation.

Versatility of installation is another advantage. The pipes can be laid both in the traditional underground manner and above ground: along bridges, overpasses, and across water obstacles. They are also suitable for laying inside cable channels, collectors and existing pipe blocks. By summer 2026, the company plans to commence serial production of the entire size range of such protective polyethylene pipes.

Moscow today remains the country’s largest industrial and engineering hub. The city is home to about 4,600 industrial enterprises employing more than 755,000 people. Every year, up to 150 new high‑tech manufacturing facilities open here, and producers have access to over 20 types of city support measures — from tax incentives to interest rate subsidies on investment loans.
