Cable Inspection in Kazan: Quality in Question for Half of the Samples
The EL-Committee of the NOPSM, together with experts from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan, conducted a monitoring of the quality of cable products in Kazan. The results were mixed: on the one hand, the market is gradually clearing; on the other, almost every second sample does not meet mandatory requirements.
Specialists purchased and tested 18 samples of cable products from leading brands that are most in demand among construction and installation organizations in the region. The first thing that drew attention was a significant change in the assortment over the past year. Most of the presented samples are now manufactured by producers who are members of the “Honest Position” association. This is an encouraging sign: consumers are increasingly trusting brands that focus on production transparency and openly declare their standards.
However, the main news, unfortunately, is not the most joyful. About half of the tested samples have deviations from GOST standards. Experts recorded violations of mandatory safety regulations, as well as issues with product labeling. In other words, even among popular brands, there are products that may pose risks during operation.
The organizers promise to publish a detailed analysis of the test results for each brand later—in special analytical materials. For now, the conclusion is one: the cable market in Kazan, like many other regional markets, remains a zone of increased attention for regulatory authorities and requires special vigilance from buyers.
